Meet the Artist Series at the Gallery - all welcome
Mary Beth LoPiccola - September 18th 1-3 pmFront Street Gallery Artist and SAA Instructor, Mary Beth Lo Piccolo will be the first in a new series of Meet the Artists at the Front Street Art Gallery. Mary is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Art and is experienced in both Commercial and Fine Arts. Her studies continued on arrival in Massachusetts with Jack Callahan and Constance Flavell Pratt. She soon became involved in the SAA where she has been an active member for well over three decades. Over time, Mary has focused on watercolor where she has found that with repeated practice, fingers dancing on the canvas like a pianist on the keys, she can weave both experience and the subconscious to create an organic whole. Mary continues to work in both the commercial and fine art worlds. She finds that the strong draftsmanship and design of commercial art merge with the spiritual perspective of fine arts to create a truly inspirational and satisfying work. On Sunday, September 18 at 1:00, Mary will offer a demonstration in the intimate setting of the Front Street Art Gallery. The Gallery plans to offer monthly demos as a way to involve the public more directly in act of creation. Mary will sell off her painting at the end of the demo.
Ted Nystrom - October 23rd 1-3 pmTed's well-known watercolors of famous landmarks, seascapes, and landscapes are rendered in a realistic style, using what Nystrom refers to his “natural” palette. During the demo, Ted will discuss howhow he creates a watercolor painting: Selecting a site or subject matter, designing and composing a scene, drawing, color values, the application of paint and his thoughts on matting and framing. Ted's painting will be for sale following the demo.
Linda Pedersen - November 13th 1-3 pmThe allure of photography has been part of Linda Pedersen’s life from an early age. Her photographic focus is capturing the beauty and fun of all things nautical, particularly along the New England coastline. Linda's demo will consist on showing how to make photographs taken on your iPhone look professional.
