Scituate Arts Association celebrated a Solstice Soirée fundraiser at the Scituate Country Club on Saturday, June 24 at the Scituate Country Club from 5-9 pm.  Strains from Driftway Jazz filled the air while guests enjoyed an evening of hors d’oeuvres coupled with fine art and the company of other art enthusiasts.  The new silent art auction:  “Art to Go” which featureed 8x10 works created and donated by area artists starting at $50, was a great success.

In addition, there were live and silent auctions featuring an original oil painting created during the Soiree and donated by award-winning artist Vcevy Strekalovsky.  In addition to Vcevy’s work, the SAA live auctioned works by SAA artists past and present, including awarding winning artists–Bob Beaulieu (beaulieudesign.com ), Sergio Roffo (sergioroffo.com) Betty Burke, Irwin Nesoff and Dick Copello.  The many Silent Auctions items ranged from a Dine and Stay to 4 tickets for a Red Sox Game.

Proceeds from this event will be used towards the Ellis Restoration Fund and in support of the SAA’s ongoing community outreach including arts education and scholarships. Join us for a fine evening in support of one of the oldest art associations on the South Shore, and keep Arts Alive in your community.  Finally we’d like to thank our event sponsor, the Inn at Scituate Harbor.  Oil painting /Solstice Logo courtesy of Bob Beaulieu.
